Kim Kardashian will walk down the aisle with her man Kris Humphries tomorrow, and it's hard to believe that just five years ago this gal wasn't even a reality star! In fact, she wasn't dating Ray J yet -- and hadn't met Reggie Bush either. Back when the picture on the left was taken in August 2006, Kardashian walked the red carpet in honor of her pal Paris Hilton, who was hosting an after party in Vegas for her new album. At 25, she was a divorced socialite with famous friends, and Brandy's stylist!
The next year, that all changed. Kardashian became a tabloid staple when a risque home video of her and then-boyfriend Ray J surfaced. From there, she and her family landed their own reality show, Keeping Up with Kardashians. The first episode aired in October 2007 and it's been going strong since. Over the last five years, this busy gal has created her own empire. Her permanent Twitter location is "on a plane..."! She probably doesn't even sleep, really, but when everything you touch turns to gold, those long nights really pay off -- to the tune of about $12 million this year.
Somewhere between walking red Kris+Humphries in Amberlounge Fashion Monaco2011 - Arrivalscarpets, filming reality shows, launching fragrances, running three boutiques, and starting a clothing line, Kim managed to find love with NBA player Kris Humphries in late 2010. She and on-again, off-again beau Reggie Bush gave it their best shot from about 2007 to March 2010, just in time for her to meet Humphries a few months later.
Kardashian and the super-tall basketball star were immediately hot and heavy, and it only took a few months for Humphries to put a ring on it. He proposed with rose petals spelling "Will you marry me?" and a 20-carat diamond. She said "yes." Of course. And now, here we are. Three months after Humphries got down on one knee, they two are preparing to say "I do" at a $29 million estate in Montecito, California Saturday. The wedding is supposed to be the celeb event of the year! And, in true reality star style, her big day will be broadcast on TV for the world to see. For four hours.
